Our Venue: FH Burgenland
Welcome to Eisenstadt, the capital city of Burgenland! Our conference takes place on the campus of FH Burgenland, a modern university and research institution.

No matter whether you already have a lot of conference experience or are taking part for the first time: We will make sure that you feel part of the community as soon as you arrive.
Here in the entrance area we will answer your questions and help you find your way around.
Between the talks and workshops, relaxation zones inside and outside the building invite you to take a deep breath and enjoy a coffee.
The campus cafeteria will provide you with delicious food and drinks. A supermarket for your daily needs is just a 10-minute walk away.
How to Get There
By public transportation
From “Wien Hauptbahnhof” (Vienna Main Station), take a train to “Eisenstadt Bahnhof”. You will arrive in just over an hour. Find your connection and get your train ticket from ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways).
After your arrival at “Eisenstadt Bahnhof”, you have several options:
- Our recommendation is to take line 2 of the Eisenstadt city bus and get off at “Technologiezentrum TZE”. Now the FH is within walking distance. Note that the city bus doesn’t run on Sunday.
- There are other regional bus lines as well. Use the VOR route planner to find them. Click on the upper left menu icon to switch the interface from German to English, and enter “Technologiezentrum TZE” as your destination.
- Also, there are cabs waiting at the train station.
- Or if you prefer to walk all the way, the 2 km route to FH Burgenland takes about 25 minutes.
By car
From the highway A3/S31 take the “Eisenstadt Süd” exit. Turn right at the second traffic circle, then go straight ahead for approx. 400 m. There’s a large parking lot directly in front of the campus building. Parking is free for conference speakers and attendees.

The website of FH Burgenland has detailed information on arrival by public transportation or car. Keep in mind that the FH has a second location in Pinkafeld, so make sure you’re looking at the directions for Eisenstadt.
Accomodation
Because it tends to get late at a Python conference, we recommend that you stay overnight. When you sign up, let us know if you need accomodation. We will be happy to support you.
- If you stay at the dormitory next to the FH, it will only take you a minute to reach the conference area in the morning.
- For a few lucky guests, there are bungalows at the beach cafe nearby.
- Eisenstadt has apartments and hotel rooms to suit every taste.
What To Do Around the Campus and in Eisenstadt
What images appear in your mind’s eye when you think of a Python conference? If you don’t immediately think of hot rhythms and cool drinks under palm trees, a new experience awaits you! In just 5 minutes you will reach the beach cafe where our opening party will take place.
For a quick workout or a sauna break, there is a gym and squash center nearby. Or how about an introduction to traditional Austrian dance? Yes, there’s even a dancing school here! By the way, if you’re used to Viennese grumpiness, get ready for the friendly and warm people of Burgenland.
If you’re coming with your spouse, family or friends who won’t attend the conference, they’ll have a good time too. Find inspirations on sightseeing and leisure activities.
